Step by step instructions for this heart rock painting idea

Believe it or not, Post-It notes are my key supply for these rocks! If you don’t have any around you could use a little piece of painters tape rolled up as well. This will all make sense as you read along.
Start by folding your post-it in half sticky side together. Then trace half a heart with the point touching the bottom of the paper (where the sticky spot is inside).
Use your rock for measurement to make sure you like the size of your heart.
Unfold your heart and place down on your rock. Make sure to press the sticky down nice and secure so it won’t move around as you paint.
Starting at a center spot on your rock start pulling lines out off of your paper heart.
R101 Tips: Make sure to always pull off of the paper. Do NOT go the other direction. This will help the edge stay nice and crisp when you remove the heart.
Continue pulling paint off the heart. Be careful not to over saturate the dot in the center or it will get soggy and possible breakthrough the post it.
You can peek from time to time to see how your design looks.
You can connect the edges when you are done if you want less of the burst effect. Or place it back down and keep adding lines until you can see the full heart shape!
This is an easy technique to take in lots of different directions and styles!
