Easy Acrylic Flowers
We have loads of flower painting ideas using paint pens, but not quite as many with acrylics. Getting used to painting with acrylics can be a bit more difficult, but just like with everything else a little practice goes a long ways!
Simple Flower Painting Supplies
For this painted flower we are using only black acrylic paint. We do thin the paint a bit with water so have some on hand. You will also need a liner brush. The smaller the surface you are painting the smaller of brush you will need. I am painting on this stone that I purchased at Hobby Lobby. So I actually modified my brush by clipping off some of the bristles to make it even smaller!

How Paint an Easy Flower with Acrylics Step-by-Step
Below you will find step by step images on how to paint this flower. There is a full video tutorial after if you are looking for more details or tips to create this design!
For this design we are thinning out our black acrylic paint with a little bit of water. This will help us get nice clean smooth strokes. Create the outline of your flower center and then a few petals going off to the side. Start adding in small strokes along the edges going in toward the center, and from the center going out.
It is ok to go over the edges towards the middle, but be careful not to along the edges. Keep building up your strokes until you like the look of the petals. Last, add dots in the center of your flower. Build them up nice and thick along the edge between the center and the petals and then lighter towards the center.
