How to make fun witch rocks this Halloween

Halloween just isn’t Halloween without some of the classics! Like you know, a friendly little witch!

I had so much fun with all of my kawaii face trick or treaters I had to add this adorable witch to the bunch.

These witch rocks are cute and simple to create just follow along with the steps below!

Step by step instructions for this witch painted rock

I used these pens for painting my witch but you can easily use acrylics too. Having a fine tip pen is great for the final details and outline. For all of the supplies we recommend for painting characters, check out this shopping list!

Start by laying out some basic shapes to help place your witch onto your rock.

I like to lay out the top of her hat, a triangle missing its bottom, and the face. Fill in the face so it has time to dry in case you need a second coat.

Now add on the rim of your had. It is just a super skinny oval laying on its side.

Color the hat and add a sash for a pop of color. For this witch I chose purple.

Now it’s time to add on some hair. Start by laying down some wiggly gray lines. Then go back on top of them with a bit of black, then gray one more time. Press lightly and allow the colors to mix together a bit but not all the way.

101 Tip: Make sure you pull the hair in the direction the hair would flow, do not go back and forth just pull from root to tip and repeat.

Now go along your witch to give her a solid outline. Including the hair. Remember don’t make it too perfect.

Add on her cute smile with wide set eyes. Then last, but not least a tiny little sparkle in the upper right-hand corner on both eyes.

This ups that cuteness factor and she just doesn’t look complete without it!
