On this heart painted rock, I used a holographic acrylic paint from Naturalis Paint.

When I first received these paints from Naturalis I was a bit worried about the size of the bottle. However, as you see in the video below, I barely used any to create this fabulous rock. This little bottle is going to create quite a few amazing stones! It’s definatly worth every penny.

Plus, all it takes is this one paint to create a beautiful holographic effect on a rock. It’s so easy to use, it’s perfect for any skill level!

This paint is what makes these rocks amazing. We recommend using this paint on a black background. If you need tips on getting a quick black base coat, check out our base coat hack.

Step by step instructions:

Create a template of the size of heart you want to place on your rock. I love to use sticky notes for my templates. This helps to keep the paper from moving around while I trace.

Trace your heart onto your stone.

Fill your heart with black paint.

Make sure the black paint is completely dry.

Then, use your Naturalis Holographic Paint to fill in a slightly smaller heart. Creating a black border around your heart.

Using a smaller brush, create a little star with a few dots as a trail on one of the arches.

Once dry seal this rock with a clear acrylic spray.

Sealing your heart rock

These painted rocks look amazing with a nice glossy sealant.
